Project ECHO ONE

Project ECHO is a long-standing program at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center designed to disseminate specialized cancer knowledge to healthcare providers in remote and underserved communities.
The program’s mission is to eliminate disparities in expertise through telementoring, ensuring that patients can receive high-quality cancer treatment no matter where they live.

ECHO = “Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes”

Since January 2019, J-TOP has been an officially designated Project ECHO hub for Asia, a recognition granted by the University of New Mexico (the project’s founding site) with the facilitation of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Operating on the core principles of the ECHO model, we have since developed our “Project ECHO ONE (Oncology Network Education)” program.

Key Features of Project ECHO ONE

  • As a networking hub for Asia, we offer programs that globally connect oncology care professionals from Japan and other Asian countries.
  • Based on real-world clinical cases, we aim to enhance the knowledge of all participants through expert mentorship and highly participatory discussions.
  • We host the “ECHO ONE Clinic,” a complimentary online conference utilizing Zoom, approximately twice a month.
Healthcare professionals from Japan and various Asian countries participate, creating a true cross-border, interactive learning community.
  • By leveraging AI-powered, real-time translated captions, we facilitate communication that transcends language barriers.

Mission

Our mission is to provide oncology professionals across Asia with a web-based community and network for education and discussion on emerging treatments in the rapidly evolving field of cancer care.

Vision

We envision a future where every oncology professional in Asia is connected through a dynamic network, empowering them with the latest knowledge on novel cancer therapies through collaboration and discussion.
